Our Specialized Learning Curriculum
Each school program is crafted to meet the State of Ohio standards and exceed the expectations for excellence set for the student. All instruction is individualized to each student, and various curricula may be utilized to best meet their learning needs and objectives.
Preschool Level
We focus on play-based learning and ensure alignment with the Ohio Board of Education’s Early Learning and Development Standards. An individualized, behavioral-based curriculum targets each student’s specific learning needs. Focus is placed on functional skills that are useful and immediately applicable to the student’s environment. This may include communication, learning safety and personal identifying information, toilet training, and self-care. Each day includes fun group activities involving sensory-motor, large and small muscle movements, music, rhythm, repetition, and balance. Play-based centers provide open-ended opportunities for inspiration and exploration in math, science, drama, art, and technology, allowing for independent learning experiences.
Elementary Level
At the Elementary level, the focus is on each student’s academic and behavioral success. The Ohio Extended Learning Standards guide instruction in English, math, social studies, and science. Daily individual and small group instruction is highly structured and based on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and any related academic or behavioral needs. Positive reinforcement-based techniques bring about meaningful and favorable changes in behavior and assist in acquiring new skills. Behavior support, academic intervention, and social skills are primary developmental goals.
Middle and High School Levels
At these two unique learning levels, we maintain our focus on core subjects to meet our students’ individual abilities and needs. We use innovative techniques to help students make lasting social and vocational connections to real-world situations. Individualized vocational opportunities, including community partnerships and career path explorations, are available for students.
Tuition and Funding
We prioritize helping our students and their families access the quality education to which they are entitled. Funding and placement can be obtained through school district placement, the Autism Scholarship, the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship, and private pay.
BHCOE Accreditation
TES’ behavior program is proudly BHCOE accredited, reflecting our commitment to excellence in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our Ohio team has been accredited since 2019, and our dedicated behavior team, working within TES Academy, ensures that we meet the highest standards of care. This recognition underscores our unwavering dedication to delivering quality services to our students.
