Occupational Therapy Services

TES provides Occupational Therapy services to clients of all ages to promote physical and mental well-being using ‘occupations’.

OUR PROVIDERS

Our Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) use meaningful activities (occupations) to help clients participate in activities to promote physical and mental health and well-being. Occupational Therapy addresses motor, cognitive, socio/emotional, sensory, feeding and other aspects of performance. These treatments aid in the improvement of skills that help them perform tasks that are vital to their day-to-day occupations.

ASSESSMENTS

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is the integration of research findings and clinical expertise. Our Pediatric PTs utilize EBP to provide best practice treatment strategies for every child to enhance the effectiveness of interventions. Pediatric physical therapists use evidence-based decision-making for examination, evaluation, physical therapy diagnosis, prognosis, and development of the plan of care.

DIRECT SERVICES

Our OT services utilize various treatment methodologies, including Sensory Integration (SI), Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Developmental Approach, and Motor Learning, to treat and address skills such as motor coordination, visual perception, handwriting, oral-motor, feeding sensory processing and modulation, play, self-care, neuromuscular function, etc.

TEAM APPROACH

Together with parents and caregivers, school administrators, teachers, and other therapists, our Occupational therapists address developmental motor milestones; develop skills to complete daily living skills; and assist in participation in age-appropriate daily routines. Our OTs train and collaborate with other therapists, school staff and families to determine each client’s goals and to customize intervention to improve each child’s ability to perform daily activities at his or her optimal level.
